About Bob.
My formal name is Robert A. Behan. But that is not me. I'm Bob. I am a very experienced professional who thinks of myself as a blue-collar worker. I've been told I'm a humble, easy-going, smart guy. If you choose to spend some time with me, you can decide for yourself.
I grew up on the West Side of St. Paul and went to public high school. I finished my education at the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Business. But that is not where I learned how to be successful in business.
I learned on the job! In my younger years, I had the benefit of learning from some very successful people who chose to mentor me along the way. I also learned from the school of hard knocks. Maybe you know what I mean?
I don't know everything, but I do know a lot.
My Career
Before My Professional Career
I worked in a gas station, was a summertime card carrying steel worker, part time Target store employee, scrapyard worker and worked in the laundry at the St. Paul Hotel.
My First Professional Position
I was a corporate buyer for Target Stores, working in the IDS Center in downtown Minneapolis. I felt like, inner city kid makes good at age 26.
Farwell, Ozman, Kirk & Co.
I became President of this company at age 32. FOK was a wholesale supplier of hardware (plumbing, tools, paint, etc) to 1700 franchise hardware stores and Target Stores, where we were their 3rd largest vendor at the time.
